Splish Splash

Hi everyone. Sorry about the silence. Libby really has become intolerant of being filmed. Whenever I get out a camera or iPhone she must have it immediately. So, in order to minimze tantrums we have rarely taken any video or pics of her this past month. However, for those of you who are getting annoyed with me…here are some videos taken after the storm in Indy yesterday. Clearly puddles are more fascinating than grabbing my iPhone. Although, if you are wondering why she is asking for bubbles in both the outdoors videos it is because the only thing she is allowed to do on the phone is play with a bubble popping App. By the end of the second video she had had enough. She wanted the phone and those dumb ol’ puddles weren’t cutting it anymore. Sad, but true.

There is a reason that our postings have slowed down. Libby is getting to a point where if she’s notices that we have either the digital camera or the IPhone video camera pointed at her she charges on us till she gets her hands on the devices. It makes trying to capture moments with her pretty futile. However, if she is sufficiently distracted we are able to get some pics. Here are a few that Clay took while Libby was checking out the new sprinkler head. She still isn’t sure that she approves.

Totally worth it

A week and a half of building the boxes on my porch in the evenings.
Trips to 4 different garden centers to get veggie starts.
Dirt delivered yesterday and boxes filled 1 wheelbarrel at at time starting at 6:45am this morning.
One lunch hour today sacrificed to move my little plant babies into their new homes.
Worth every minute!

Feel free to click on any pic to worship close up.

Garden contains the following:
3 varieties of tomatoes
2 varieties of bell peppers
2 varieties of eggplants
thyme
basil
rosemary
oregano
zuchini
celery
broccoli

You may notice that several squares are empty. Those are the future homes of carrots and lettuce.

We are using the square foot garden method that our friends have had huge sucess with for the last couple of years.

We will keep everyone posted on glorious garden.

Video Outtakes

Not all videos of Libby are great. Some of them only have elements of adorable mixed with bad lighting, bad angles, and bad narration. Just in case you ever wanted to see a sample of some videos that don’t normally make the cut…these are for you.

Newer and better

My dear darling mother called to tell me that she is pining for new libby pics on the site. We just spend an awesome weekend with Libby’s birthparents and I have some great pics from that, but they are in need of cropping, resizing, etc. Here are just a couple to tide you over.

Many of you may not know that Libby’s full name is Elizabeth Joss Mabbitt. She is named after my twin sister, Elizabeth Jane Trotzke, who goes by the name Betsy. Here is a sweet pic of Betsy and her half-pint namesake.

And here is just a pic of Libby being her absurd little self.

This is not my kid. This isn’t even a kid I know, but sometimes you just gotta give props to the cuteness of others.

About this blog

I depend on my parents for food, shelter, and succor. They're great, but I wish I had a vote on whether or not we shared a roof with those mangy cats. I don't have any say in the matter, and those ridiculous four-legged beasts have more freedom to move about the house than I do. Until I learn to talk, this electric journal is my only means of voicing my distaste. You can't stop the signal!
