More clothes that Libby doesn’t need
Aug 26th, 2009 by Mom

Love love love this top. The first version of this that I made was way too big for Libby. Mind you, I made the size for 6 month olds (Libby is 8 months old now). It looked like a sack dress on her. So, I made version #2 that was listed on the pattern as size 0-3 months. Totally nutty. I will admit that Libby is smallish, but she ain’t that smallish. Who ever heard of vanity sizing for infants?

I just realized while reviewing this post that this is yet another very literal translation of a pattern. The last one was on purpose, but this was purely accidental. I have had this lightweight seersucker fabric for a long time. Honest.

Libby in the AM

I was inspired by our friend Brooke’s baby blog to capture what our little kitten looks like when she wakes up in the morning. If there was ever any doubt that Libby is one happy baby, this should reassure the world. That kid is happy almost every second of the day. This is what I get to wake up to everyday. I am truly a lucky lady.

At the Winery

We had our July Bookclub at the lake at Olivery Winery. The weather was perfect and Libby had the time of her life. We took the  opportunity to have a photo shoot.

It’s just sew sew
Aug 3rd, 2009 by Mom

Heaven knows that Libby does not lack for clothing. We have been saving hand-me-downs from 3 other little ladies and since baby clothes are typically very gently used we have tons and tons of clothes. We have also purchased some items, but not many. She still has more clothing than she will ever have a chance to wear.

So, what is a crafty mom to do? Sew her up even more outfits, of course. :)

My mom-in-law is teaching me to sew from patterns. I have always known how to sew, but reading a pattern was like reading hieroglyphics. Luckily, she is a pro and I am having a ton of fun. I will post the stuff I make for Libby on here. Hopefully I can control myself. We’ll see.

Below is the first pattern I used for her stuff and the fabric. Next is Libby modeling her very literal rendition of this pattern. At the bottom is an additional dress I made from this pattern. The dress ended up being a little short and really needs a diaper cover because Libby really loves pulling up her dresses. Don’t worry. I will get to it.  Obviously she looks totally fetching in both.
