We had our July Bookclub at the lake at Olivery Winery. The weather was perfect and Libby had the time of her life. We took the  opportunity to have a photo shoot.

It’s just sew sew
Aug 3rd, 2009 by Mom

Heaven knows that Libby does not lack for clothing. We have been saving hand-me-downs from 3 other little ladies and since baby clothes are typically very gently used we have tons and tons of clothes. We have also purchased some items, but not many. She still has more clothing than she will ever have a chance to wear.

So, what is a crafty mom to do? Sew her up even more outfits, of course. :)

My mom-in-law is teaching me to sew from patterns. I have always known how to sew, but reading a pattern was like reading hieroglyphics. Luckily, she is a pro and I am having a ton of fun. I will post the stuff I make for Libby on here. Hopefully I can control myself. We’ll see.

Below is the first pattern I used for her stuff and the fabric. Next is Libby modeling her very literal rendition of this pattern. At the bottom is an additional dress I made from this pattern. The dress ended up being a little short and really needs a diaper cover because Libby really loves pulling up her dresses. Don’t worry. I will get to it.  Obviously she looks totally fetching in both.

Big kid
Jul 30th, 2009 by Mom

This pic was taken on Libby’s 7 month b-day. I can’t believe how big she is getting. She eats tons of food off of spoons, she babbles all the time, she is only getting up overnight for one extra bottle (usually), she sits up all the time and loves to stand up in her exersaucer. She is practically a grown up girl….nah, she is still my little baby kitten.

Thifty bathtime
Jul 28th, 2009 by Mom

What do you do when your kid is too big for an infant baby bath, but still too small for all the “sit up” seats available for bathing in a full size tub? Improvise.

Yep, that green bucket she is bathing in is a cold drink party tub purchased on clearance for $2.50 at Walmart. The blue bit in the bottom is the body sponge from her infant tub. It keeps her from sliding around in there. She loves it. She can splash like crazy. Cheap and fun! It doesn’t get any better.

Before bedtime

I am totally not tired. Nopey. Nope. Nope. Let’s just skip sleeping and play all night long.

Don’t knock it till you try it
Jul 23rd, 2009 by Libby

Yep, it really it the best way to snooze. I don’t spend my whole night holding my feet, but from time to time it is just the best position. Good for digestion. Good for flexibility. It just doesn’t get any better.

We have tried 6 of the Indy Farmer’s Markets, but nothing compares to the Bloomington market. So, even though it was only 67 degrees last Saturday morning, we just couldn’t resist. Luckily, Aunt Betsy was on hand to take some awesome pics. I stayed in Mommy’s papoose the whole time whe where there and had sooper fun!
